Gigapan, an amazing digital camera accessory

[ 0 ] 2010/03/16 | Simon Harris

This is a digital camera accessory with amazing possibilities, now available in a standard version for point and shoot digital cameras at $380 and a pro version for larger and DSLR cameras at $895, it is a camera mount that precisely pans/tilts the camera, takes photos and then stitches the pics into either panoramas or gigantic format shots. This gives almost the ability for Bladerunner style zooms (although this would produce image files of the most tremendous size) or amazing landscape shots, it’s also apparently quite easy to use. There are some great photos on their site.

Here’s the catalog page for the new Pro version
